A murti based on a significant moment in the life of Bhagwan Swaminarayan as a child, when he was known as Ghanshyam. Here he climbs atop a tree and looks intently towards the west.
Bhagwan Swaminarayan was known as Ghanshyam during his childhood. There are numerous tales about Ghanshyam and his friends playing in Chappaiya. One such incident is when Ghanshyam climbed a pipal tree and started looking westward. When his friends asked him about this, he replied "I am looking towards the spiritual aspirants in the West." Ghanshyam grew up and was later known as Nilkanth Varni throughout his extensive travels across the length and breadth of India for seven years. He eventually settled in the western Indian state of Gujarat and established a spiritual lineage of gurus to guide aspirants on the spiritual path.
