Expressions: Poems by Paramahansas of Bhagwan Swaminarayan is a compilation of a selection of bhajans penned by saint-devotees expressing their devotion of Bhagwan Swaminarayan, their English translations and the captivating stories of the circumstances in which they were composed.

Bhagwan Swaminarayan enthusiastically encouraged his devotees, both renunciants and householders, to express their spiritual sentiments through poetry. He viewed devotional hymns as a link between the mundane and the divine. Such was his inspiration that a distinguished cadre of paramahansas (renunciant) poets was established who composed thousands of bhajans (spiritual poems) full of profound spiritual insights and experience. Their poetry is a living testimony of their spiritual affinity for Bhagwan Swaminarayan. At times, when instructed, but often spontaneously, the paramahansas would burst into song to capture their thoughts, observations and emotions. They have left a rich legacy of divine, spiritual poetry that continues to inspire and guide spiritual aspirants to the present day.
